If this is your first lighting assignment please review the Lighting and Rendering Handbook for guidance.

You can start from step 4 in the rendering guide as I've done everything before that. Getting the Peep crowd into the shot was tricky so I needed to test it. If there are too many Peeps getting in teh way of the Hero Peeps consider unreferencing the ones that get int he way... but keep most of them.

This is one the shots that has the bubble effect in it. This needs to be setup and implemented. Here's the video tutorial Iskander made to get you going.

Just need to double check something with you - when i open the sh0400_CPD_startjob_v01_Lighting_MC.ma file it alerts me that the reference file cannot be found. Is it normal that I would need to re-link all the ma files?

Nope... only if you don't have your files in the correct place. I'd recommend sorting that out first otherwise it will cause both you and the rest for the team rather a lot of manual relinking work. It should be here:

C:\Devils_Angels_Dating\My Dropbox

 

But if it's not.... DO NOT MOVE ANYTHING MANUALLY! Use the preferences in Dropbox to move it to:

C:\Devils_Angels_Dating\

Something just occurred to me, I've got my dropbox on my E drive because I use my C drive as my OS drive while my data is saved onto my E drive. I'll re-direct it but explains why I've run into issues now that I'm working with multiple linked files.

Hi guys, i'm starting to get an error in the script editor. i seem to be able to continue but it's caused maya to crash a few times:

looks like the facemachine plugin.

 

when does it crash? on loading of the scene or during? if it is when the scene is loading does it get to around 74% then crash if so it is becuase the setup machine plugin hasn't loaded properly.

oh yeah if you are using the bubbles too, there isn't a shader assigned to it yet, I can do a screengrab of the my latest test and you can recreate it. it will be created automatically in the future.

 

Also the controller needs to be opened again for the extra options to appear on the second tab - this too will be fixed in a later version of the script.
