It might not look like much but right there is a lot of time and effort. Fighting printers that don't want to work, making different types of DVDs, filling in forms online and by hand. Figuring out postage methods and packaging. Not to mention international customs forms (the packet on the left is destined for Annecy in France).
Iskander has one more that he's preparing that will be sent from the UK in order to get to London for a deadline in a couple of days. Then there were dozens more I managed to find ways to do them online, which is a whole other battle!
'Without a Box' simplifies things a lot, especially if you can submit the version they judge online through them (although they charge you a bit every time you do that, but it's less hassle than the DVDs by a mile). Some Festivals aren't on Without a Box though and either have their own unique rules or just really old sites that don't work properly. This can be really stressful, confusing and time consuming and it's really easy to make mistakes. As it is I have to contact one Festival to try to get the application fee back as it wasn't clear the site was broken and it was for last year's event... and I didn't realize this until I'd already jumped through the hoops and paid.
