As usual, lots of new stuff in this version of the animatic. We've got new animation, and rendered shots, plus refinements to the edit and labels. Quite a few new names in the credits this time too, which are of course also maintained on the About page for the film here:

Comment by Michael Cawood - Director on December 17, 2010 at 7:36am: There will be fire there. Devil is a bundle of devilish energy that he's trying to hold back. A prick to the finger will make fire come from his finger, just like you or I would blood. Fear or Fury will also make him explode in flames. It's previz for effects we'll add later on.

Comment by Michael Cawood - Director on January 1, 2011 at 1:39pm: There was a story concern that it wasn't clear early enough in the timeline that Cupid's beam acted like a tractor beam. Emily had the idea that he could use his wand early on to try and take back his Halo. I'm keen to leave the Halo where it is but I've been toying with the idea of having him attempt to tractor beam the Halo where he currently just threatens to fire the wand. Then he would would give up, either because Devil was freaked out or because Death distracted him. I'm working on the exact details but I'm curious to see what everyone else thinks would work here, and what could enhance the story.

The other big story point I'm keen to strengthen is Devil's motivation to fire the wand. I cut the long version that explained it through a serious of escalating nervous reactions. So now I'm looking for a single simple hint or explanation that takes the doubt from the audience's mind. The idea is that he's like a scorpion with instincts to be devilish, and he's trying to hold that back. The pressure he's getting from Cupid and the unexpected attention from Death pushes him over the edge. Any ideas?
