really nice, wiil we be having any depth maps or using depth of field?

no there is no DOF...in maya 2009 i didn't get the Depth Illuminted pass..in maya 2008 make RenderLayer and asign Illuminated depth...

hehe cool to see the shot coming along, but I'm a bit surprised about the speed, it seems that the animation is speed up.

It's coming along nicely Sameer, looking good.

What's being rendered in the background? Where are the Clouds we've done, or are these the clouds somehow blured? They seem to be moving though so I'm guessing it's something else?

The reflection is cool, but I don't think we need them. It would save us rendering time and avoid distracting from the Peeps inside the Sphere if we lose all the reflections of things like characters. If we need some sort of reflection to ake the Sphere look right perhaps we can just have a cheap environment reflection?

The texture of the swirl in the Sphere is becoming blocky? I'm assuming that's the resolution of the texture map? Can we soften that in the shader? Is there any way to achieve the same effect without using sequential texture maps? I.e. have a higher resolution texture map and distort it, or something?

The Peep will actually be inside the Sphere, not outside or on the surface, so bare that in mind in any future renders.

It would be good to get a more recent version of the Devil in there with a better tail. This one is too transparent.

We can do DOF, it will probably have to be a variety of solutions, what ever is best for the shot. I'd like to do compositing DOF for most shots though, so I guess we'll have to render the chair/character/Sphere in another pass which was starting to be necessary anyway.

Iskander - is there anything you can do to give those cracks in his hair an inner glow or their own incandecense?

Sameer - when you copy the code for the YouTube clip, untick all the boxes. That will stop all the menus appearing in the video at the end.

Sameer - in most cases you can get the thumbnail to appear by waiting a while between uploading it to Youtube and pasting the code in this website. If you do it too fast YouTube hasn't has a chance to get the thumbnail made yet, which is why it appears on our website without a picture. Unfortuately that means it's harder to find and very few people will see it.

I can have a look, I will fix the seam on the tail first, what may be nice on it is having a slight bump map on it - make the smaller cracks show up and make it feel a bit more like embers.

MIKE: .What's being rendered in the background? Where are the Clouds we've done.
ME: i didnt render background becoz i didnt found in the shot..also clouds..if any thing needs to render for final render put all the things..clouds,background..it easy to work on it...just put on them in the LAYERS and also LAYERS COLORS...which i posted before IMPORTANT NOTE...
any thing Require for shot0420_DVL put it like clouds...background..and delete all unuse stuffs..

Mike: so I guess we'll have to render the chair/character/Sphere in another pass which was starting to be necessary anyway.

Me: i think no need to render Seperate passes for Chari/character/sphere...i think if we go for MATT pass with RGB its better..and i did for this shot...

The main reason for a seperate pass on the characters is that we want them to have transparnecies... hence all the transpanrecy experiments.

What's the image of the video upload page for? Yes that's where you upload the code... But my notes are still relevent for making the vidoes work on this website better.

In order to see the background, just go the to reference editor and tick these boxes:
Gravestones (A, B & C)
Clouds
LightRig
Sky_Dome
God Rays
Pixie Dust

Bascially everything that's currently unticked.
